Iraq General Calls Mission a 'Nightmare'

The MSM 'summaries' of it are disgusting hatchet jobs. Sanchez' speech (3405 total words) focuses entirely on two things: (1) the media lies its head off and this is bad for the war effort (1367 words), and (2) the rest (2004 words) is spent excoriating the US government for wasteful and dangerous bi-partisan infighting. Given that the Republicans are trying to get the War won, and the Dems are trying to stop them, he is implicitly aiming his words at the Dems. He criticizes the current admin mostly in the context that they are disabled by constantly having to pander to the divisive demands of the Democrats.

Quotations:
"Since 2003, the politics of war have been characterized by partisanship as the Republican and Democratic parties struggled for power in Washington. National efforts to date have been corrupted by partisan politics that have prevented us from devising effective, executable, supportable solutions. At times, these partisan struggles have led to political decisions that endangered the lives of our sons and daughters on the battlefield."...

"Congress must shoulder a significant responsibility for this failure since there has been no focused oversight of the nations' political and economic initiatives in this war."
