Turkey Up in Arms Over House Resolution Against Armenian ‘Genocide'

Submitted by Sonya, Oct 12, 2007 20:25

So if this genocide as many have noted was such a long time ago and committed not by this Turkish government, then why is Turkey so riled up. Its just a little non binding resolution. Well the reason may be that they do not want to admit to lying all these years, to their people and to the world community. Thankfully there are turkish authors who have talked on this subject. Unfortunately anyone in Turkey who dares mention the genocide or talk about the Armenians is said to "offend turkishness" and is sent to jail, as the case was going to be with Nobel prize winning Orhan Pamuk. What a great DEMOCRATIC ally you have Mr. President. I do not want to go into detail on all of the proof that exists to support the Armenian genocide. Mainly the archives of America, Britain, France, Germany, Poland and Russia are filled with documents proving the planned extermination. Not to mention Kemal Ataturk who condemned the Young Turks for the atrocities, and many others including Hitler who gave it as an example for his soldiers to excuse the acts they were about to commit against the Jews. If you listen to the Turkish side somehow all of this foregn evidence all of the archives and testimonies are lies and have been rigged by Armenians, and the Turkish intellectuals who talk about the issue are terrorists, traitors and liars. Turkey IS NOT going to act upon its threats, they need US too much its that simple. US has been long overdue in recognizing this genocide. Canada and France (and numerous other countries) have recognized the genocide and they are NATO members also, somehow they weren't afraid of Turkish threats. Although Turkey stopped relations with France for two months, they had to resume them, WHY because they need France MORE than France needs them. TIME TO JOIN THE LIST US and RECOGNIZE THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE FOR WHAT IT IS!!
