A Success in Community Planning

As a Gardens resident for the past 25 years I can appreciate your knowledge of the history of the area and recognition of its aesthetic charms as well as its culture and architecture. However I take issue when you say there is no first rate restaurant in the area. On the west side of Continental Avenue (currently somewhat obscured by scaffolding) is an outstanding bistro called Dirty Pierre's. This cozy bar/restaurant is a great place to take a date or to catch a game with your buddies. It is one part Cheers and can also serve as the"cafe that spills onto the plaza" that you long for. The staff is as pleasant as it is competent and the owner, Chris, was raised in the area and trained as a chef in Europe. All in all it is an integral part of America's best cottage community.
