NFL Must Nix the Timeout Before the Field Goal Trick

Here is my take on this subject matter, being a Raiders fan who suffered through the first one of the season. I cheered in my living room running back and forth after "beating" the Broncos for the first time in years, hell just an AFC West opponent would do. But when I was done with my celebrations, I looked up and noticed it was negated because of Shanahan's timeout. From there it was a bunch of fowl curse words to the television. But after it was all said and done, I was just happy the Raiders weren't called for false start for whatever unknown reason (the zebras love us), and that we actually competed to overtime (something last year would have never happened). So what, he called the timeout, and all of our hearts dropped, it was legal and clever. I give the Donkey's props for calling that timeout, because otherwise they would have lost. Same can be said for the Raiders against the Browns. We needed a win, basically controlled that game all the way until the end, then the Browns thought they won it, but a legal timeout negated their win, and we block the next kick. But here is the true problem: SPECIAL TEAMS THAT SUCK. Janikowski is hit or miss every time he steps on the field, so with those odds, I would have done the same thing as Shanahan. Same can be said for Dawson (browns kicker), he was kicking low the whole time that game, and it was bound to be blocked eventually, just makes Kiffin look smarter in my opinion. Folk ( a rookie at that) had no problems on try one, or try two. Guess we can say he is consisitent at the least, seeing as the second attempt would have followed a laser path of the first attempt. Bottom line, I love this timeout icing, because it changes games dramatically, if your SPECIAL TEAMS SUCK. Just another point of view from a fan who was ripped of a win, but stole another. All is fair in love and war, and I would say football is a little of both.
