KITCHENER CANADA

I turned 60 this year and I am one Baby Boomer who does not intend to "roll over and die" for a long time.

We do not have to buy into society's sale of the idea that "Only the good die young" That is hogwash.

I take antihypertensive medicine, antioxidants, salmon oil, Glucosamine, drink gren tea, Beta prostate, eat lots of vegetables, to help my body, and intend to be active in my hobbies, as well as in my career as a chemist.

My hobbies include rebuilding and flying airplanes, appreciating and photographing everything I find interesting, buying selling on eBay, leading praise and worship at our church, singing, playing my 12 string guitar, repairing my cars, going on tropical vacations enjoying great sex with my wife, and also camping throughout the year, helping around the house, and in general appreciating life as a gift.

My Christian faith helped me to develop an attitude of appreciation, and when, ( not if) my health will eventually fail me, and I'm called back to my Maker, I will leave "this sandbox " where I played all my life, and go, knowing that this life was just a prelude to the fantastic life that is yet to come for me and all who believe.

I intend to use whatever gifts I have left if I lose my abilities as I age.

So if you are older, ( 50 is only the beginning of middle age) look to your interests, get in touch with others, stimulate your mind, exercise your body, and focus on using what was given to you, not what might have been taken away.

If your spouse has passed away, keep going; find a support group, maybe another partner. You have a wealth of life experience and love to share; whatever you do, don't sell yourself short and never , ever, believe that you are mean, weak, broken or useless!
