Mets Avoid Blame Game by Protecting Randolph

Submitted by Michael Leggett, Oct 4, 2007 09:51

Over the '06-'07 Winter, real deals weren't made, following the Championship Series. One would think that a team on the verge, would look to strengthen their roster. This also ocurred in the winter of '00-'01:

In the '00-'01 Period, it was discovered that Fred Wilpon was looking to buy out Nelson Doubleday, then take in his Family As limited Partners, with Fred as El Jefe, with his plans for a new ballpark;

It looks like History is repeating itself, with the New Ballpark, on schedule for '09, as The Wilpons are more-committed to the New Park. Maybe then, with the Great Revenue Producing Ballpark, they'll re-invest back into the Team, & with the capacity of Citi Field, begin to charge much-higher prices.
