The column is excellent, but:

until the shemita year of 5767 began three weeks ago on Rosh Hashana.

...you have the date wrong. The year that began this past Rosh Hashana is 5768, not 5767.

With that small exception, I enjoyed the piece very much, as I do most of your writing in the Sun.
