The Extinguished Soul Of Jazz Breathes Again

Submitted by Al Hall Jr (Sanifu), Dec 7, 2006 17:07

Lee's Playing & writing influenced all of the guys I knew, back in the late 50's when I got interested in playing jazz; after 'Sidewinder' was released, if you went to a jam session......you had to know that line.....somebody was sure to call it!.......I never met Lee Morgan, but in all my years I've never heard a trumpeter, musician or jazz fan say anything negative 'bout his playin'...he had my props for sure.....I always thought he was slick composer too......he knew how to 'relate'!!
