More reflection: people coming here with the intention of establishing themselves without going through citizenship procedures--illegal immigrants--are not here for liberty. They have already chosen license, not at all the same thing. They will not learn enough English to read much less understand the plain language of the U. S. Consitution, the same Constitution Americans are defending in the war against militant Islam. It is damning that a government that fails to secure the borders, especially from those who import such an alien, hostile ideology as Islam militant does not itself honor the document that so eloquently legitimizes it--all for the sake of businesses big and small that depend on illegal immigrants for cheap labor. Rhetoric that supports such an abased notion of this country helps support a mental landscape that denies us the right to love America--and defend it. I love business, too--but not more than I love home and hearth. Illegal immigrants could care less.
