Tim,

You did all of us suffering Mets fans a real service with this fine piece. If only Willie Randolph and Omar Minaya would read it! Mota is beyond bad; he resides in some peculiar space reserved for the absolute dregs of castoff ballplayers. As a Met fan dating back to 1962 (yes, I was there in the Polo Grounds) only the name of Jay Hook comes to mind. And now here we are, almost fifty years later!!!!!
