First General Debate For New U.N. Chief

UN Secretary General Mr. Ban is completely wrong in turning down Taiwan's application for UN membership. He does not have authority to make that decision and he misinterprets UN Resolution 2758 against Taiwan. He ought to apologize to 23 million Taiwanese and corrects his mistakes accordingly.

To do an unbiased and professional job, Mr. Ban is advised to study his job description and the UN Charter including the principle of self-determination. He should be the one most responsible for upholding the UN spirit. Otherwise, the UN will be ruined by him.

In addition, Mr. Ban should get familiar with 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty signed by 48 UN member nations. In this important treaty after WW II and China's civil war, Taiwan was simply renounced by Japan, without being owned by the People's Repubic of China or Republic of China.
