South of Park Slope, a Neighborhood Awakens

After learning about the horrors of gentrification in public policy and social welfare classes in college, I am surprised at myself and how I long for home owners to invest in this neighborhood. As a resident of Greenwood Heights, I would love to see fresher markets, noise ordinances, nicer restaraunts, and more of a police presence (even though I recently found out there is a precinct a few blocks away...they don't seem to be patroling my area though!). Perhaps an onslaught of new residents buying homes might bring some of these welcome changes. I encourage the development, though I would be a little sad to loose my view of downtown Manhattan from my living room window of my third floor apartment.
