I can not understand how anyone can imagine that persuing another agressive military strategy in the middle east can be seen as an appropriate course of action for the U.S. right now. Iran may certainly have it's faults, but don't we also? The author mentions the torture of political dissidents as one of the problems that need to be addressed in Iran, but I ask if the U.S. is in any place to comment on this. Our own practices with "terror" suspects leaves much to be desired, and our former attorney general called the Geneva convention quaint. Before the disscussion of human rights and democracy in other countries can begin we should be sure that these rights and principles are brought into practice in our own country.
