The Fate of Christian Culture

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that the books of Mssrs Dawkins and Hitchens "justify" how people live today. Do you mean to suggest that we (as a people) live immorally, and that books that reveal that Atheism is more than likely the correct philosophy allow us to do so? Perhaps. Or do you mean (and I'd agree) that people tend to live *better* and *more moral* lives without religious dogma and fervour allowing them justify their bad behaviour. Do I have to point out Sept 11th? Religion can be used to excuse bad behaviour; rationalism cannot. Real good behaviour comes from knowing that each and everyone one of us only has one chance to do well by others. Doing good due to fear of the hearafter is an horrendous concept. I very much hope that we're witnessing the end of major religions. Let's free ourselves of these ancient and obviously wrong mythologies and embrace a furture where we use our brains. -=danny=-
