Syria Threatens ‘Consequences' for Israel

Syria has no military means to threaten Israel. Its warning to Israel is probably nothing more than internal political consumption. Worse yet, Syria doesn't have the oil and gas resouces Iran has to buy the latest anti-aircraft batteries from Russia that Iran has deployed to thwart a possible U.S. strike on its nuclear facilities. And if the Israelis can send a fighter aircraft over Syrian president Bashir Assad's vacation home with impunity, as they about a year ago, then, any Syrian threat against Israel in notthing else than a joke.

The incident, though, might have been an eye opener for Syria. And since Syria is unable to defend itself against israel, it might as well [ with the help of Iran ] opt for the creation of more undercover militias -like Hezbolah- on its borders with Israel that might fill the front's gap in a possible war with Israel with much better success than the standing army. That concept, based on French Colonel Brossolett's "Techno-Commando Units" warfare, upon which Hezbolah's structure and battle plans are based, will be more affective against Israel - since the Israeli supremacy in the air is unchallenged.

Sure Syria is not protesting to the U.N. The Syrians are probably happy to see what Israel and the U.S. knows, so they can modify their own operational plans, and hunt for a possible U.S. mole in their ranks. Firings and, or removals, of Syrian commanders from their posts is a certainty.

Would the Israeli aircraft incursion into Syria force Syria to abandon Hezbolah? Not a chance! Hezbolah is a clandestine military power that any other military power in Midlle East has to reckon with. It is part of the anti-U.S. and anti-Israel QUADRANT - Hezbolah, Syria, Moqtada Al Sadr, and Iran. It's a block on the building stage with focus on conrolling their territory with phantom military tactics and being fearless in battle. Israel learned its lesson when it attacked Lebanon for 70 days to wipe out Hezbolah, but it anded up wiping out its reputation as the Middle East's superpower.
