Lefty's Drop-Out Presents A FedEx Cup Dilemma

Submitted by Peter Hyde, Sep 8, 2007 23:34

I'm not sure I understand why Mickelson withdrew, but I sympatize if he did it because he's tired of playing so many tournaments in one year. I love golf and I follow it regularly, but I think there are too many tournaments and each tries to sell itself as the most important and prestigious. The top touring pros make more than enough money, especially if you include sponsorships. The winnings are unfairly distributed and audiences are bombarderd with too much hype and advertizing to the point that another event like the Fedex one is too much for fans to follow, particularly if they like to play golf as I do on weekends. Fedex, ho hum! Give me a break and let the top players have one too!
