9/11 Horror Must Also Be Recalled

Submitted by Debra Istvanik-Strotman, Sep 7, 2007 23:22

It really doesn't matter if whether a memorial service is held at ground zero or not, as long as americans remember the horror of that day. We all remember where we were when President Kennedy was shot, doesn't matter that some of us were young and in a class room, didn't matter that some were to young to understand the events of that day or the impact it would have on us, we knew our president was dead and we haven't forgotten.

As long as the facts are told, (Iraq did not attack us) and stories of those lost are told by family and friends over the years, no one will forget. Some died unaware of what was happening ,and why, others died through their bravery to help those in need. Some of us were not born yet when the Japense hit Pearl Harbor but family and history remind us of the horrors that strike us as well as others in this world.

People should pay tribute in whatever way brings comfort to each. Some will spend a quiet day at home reflecting, others will be in church, some will go to public events.

Does it really matter how we grieve our dead? As long as we don't forget there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
