Ah, Al-Qaeda. It's amazing how easily "Al-Qaeda in Iraq" and "Al-Qaeda" become one and the same. "We can't leave Iraq or Al-Qaeda will take it over! That's where we're fighting Al-Qaeda!" Nonsense. Al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan. The invasion of Iraq on this pretense is comparable to relocating the entirety of the FBI's organized crime units from Chicago and New York to Columbine, Colorado because "Well, those kids said they were the mafia, right? And there's only one mafia. And who would lie about that?" pathetic. We're fighting the Iraqis whose homes we bombed and whose families we killed. If the situation were reversed, I'd be cheerfully happy to kill any Iraqi soldier i could find...
