Wins May Push Wang Closer to Cy Young

This article you wrote just show me one thing:You should watch game more, not just run through stats and scoreline.I am a Yankee fan.Sure, you can say my opinion is biased.I want to take Sept 4 Mariners@Yankees game for example.Sure.If you just see scoreline(Yankees beat down Mariners 12-3),you will say "Of course,Wang won this game.Yankees provide him offense(12 runs)."But,The truth of matter is in another story. For 6 inning,Wang only pitched with 1-0,so the scoreline didn't tell the truth story. You also have to consider the pressure of pitching in the pennant race,in New York, stopping losing streak and what kind of circumstances pitchers pick up their wins.

Of course,C.C. Sabathia, John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar, and Beckett, who all are outstanding and have better ERA with the same amount of wins. But,they have the same luxury which Wang doesn't have. They don't have to pitch in New York which is pressure bowl. It's not Wang's fault to have that much opportunities to pitch following loses. This also shows they have better pitchers backing them up in their rotation. They don't have pressure to win the game all the time. They are all in the team which is division leader. This means they don't have to win all the time under the pressure as well.

One more thing, stats sometimes mislead as well.Wang's ERA blow up in one terrible game(2.2 IP 8ER).He is the most consistent pitcher among those pitchers. He is also groundball pitcher unlike those pitchers(Strikeout pitchers).Sometimes some groundball did went through holes. That's why Wang's ERA may be higher than those pitchers.

I don't mean Wang should win Cy Young Award and those pitchers shouldn't win Cy Young Award. They may all well deserve to this Award, but the way you criticize Wang is not fair in my opinion.
