Weall know Gaddafi's past deeds. But he also understands Africa and the West is getting nowhere in mediating conflict there. Like it or not, Gaddafi does have a great influence with African leaders and the rebels, much more influence than the UN. Having been in power thirty-eight years as of September 1, he is regarded as wise by many Africans. Ban Ki Moon should definitely work with him, and God willing, hopefully we will see some positive results in the Darfur crisis.
