The iPhone and the Technology Thieves

Submitted by Dan, Aug 28, 2007 05:45

A simple question, If I buy the iPhone and then the software to open it up. I then pay another service to make my call's. What have I stolen ? What Intellectual property have I stolen ? It's not the same as ripping a DVD and selling the copy's, or making a copy of a program and distributing it in the cloud. What ever happened to freedom of choice ? Company's are deranged about making as much money as possible that they are destroying the rights on the individual. When I buy a product, I'll use it the way I see fit. Nobody is going to tell me when or where or with whom I use said product, that is now my choice. By deliberately locking the iPhone to a specific carrier, infringes on my personal rights. Unfortunately the rights of the individual seems to be more and more disregarded when it comes time to making big bucks. We are moving in the wrong direction here people. Year after year are freedoms are being stifled by the monopolistic actions of large companies. Forcing us to bend to there capitalistic, not so democratic rules. It's not right, and I applaud any and all that have the knowledge will to fight, namely the programers that can "crack" things like the iPhone. The individuals freedoms and rights should be the issue here and not the fact that Apple my loose there 10% provision when I decide to use another service. I will decide which service best fits my needs, not Apple !! I know I am in the right, because the customer is always right. At least that's the way it used to be.
