Report: Principal Tried ‘Magic' To Cure School
in response to reader comment: Arlo... Dude...

Well actually I don't think it was Tamayo that banned me. Sinclair's the one who banned me, but after I reported her, the ban was lifted as long as I only went to the school for "legitimate" reasons. I'm not sure if Tamayo ever had anything to do with it. I'm not saying Tamayo was a saint, but I tend to think she was like Balstad, someone who was tough because the school was what it was and she cared about the kids. I could tell you a couple of antecdotes about times when she was struggling to keep the students in control, but still cut me a break because she knew I wasn't the troublemaker type. But please, let's discuss this between each other, rather than turn this message board into a "Unity grads only" discussion.

As for the violation of seperation between church and state, several of the other posters have brought up good points and I personally don't feel she violated it. There were no students in the school when she performed the ceremony, as they were all away on Winter Break. There was no possibility of students' belief systems being influenced. The only thing I do feel she did wrong was use the teachers' and the Board of Ed's money to pay for the ritual. THAT'S clearly misconduct.
