Of course, I'm not quite sure what amalgamation of people should be considered "The Left" anymore since Bush's approval ratings regarding the war hover between 25% and 35% depending on where you are asking. Of course, "the Left" might complain that it's just a ridiculous publicity stunt to further distract people from how terrible the war is going.

What "The Left" wants is what's best for the country. George Bush has wasted three years making all the wrong decisions and sending thousands of Americans to their graves. 41 troops have died this month, so nothing has changed. We're supposed to believe that the surge is a miracle cure, when the worst bombing in the entire course of the war happened only days after Petraeus was waving the banner of success. And guess what? It wasn't Al Qaeda who carried out these bombings, and it wasn't a Shiite militia backed by Iran. It's not that these groups don't exist, but we are supposed to consume White House reports without asking questions, STILL, without people like you insinuating that we are traitors or defeatist.

How many times have we heard that everything is getting better in Iraq?
