Johnny Damon should be the DH. Why? His average is now .259 and climbing. He has been getting hot. When the Yankees win, it is usually because he set the table by hitting or walking. He has stolen some 28 bases and been caught only twice!! He is second in walks on the team!! While I agree Melky is a better CF, Damon is a clutch hitter and has the second best record on the team for driving in runs with men on base. I forget the actual stat but they have announced it many times during games. The only hitter better than him with men on base is Jeter!! He has hit into only 2 double plays all year!! Clutch hitting is what wins games. Damon is clutch and a veteran with experience who works a pitcher and cool during tough situations. How many times has he been up fouling off pitch after pitch to wear down the opposing pitcher. Yankees will not win with Damon on the bench. Oh, and I have watched almost every Yankee game this year.
