So if the four steps in the radicalization process: pre-radicalization, self-identification, indoctrination, and jihadization are true, then I think that by fighting and killing the people that are living in the areas where Islamic Radicalism exists we are increasing the likelihood that individuals will go through the highly personal changes, such as an identity crisis or an intensification of religious belief...the pre-radicalization stage. Of course, I have been saying this all along, but whatever. As the NYPD commissioner Mr. Kelly says, "You have to know that there's a process. Then you at least have the potential for stopping it."
