Capturing a ‘Mad' World

I still prefer 'Burn Notice.' Mad Men is part of a pendulem swing. World War II insisted we all march in lock-step yet act like independant heros when the occassion called for it. With the end of the War all of this testosterone driven energy was let loose in the business world and while the regimentation of the office was observed, women were a new addition to the mix, consequently all the hazing stuff we hear on Mad Men. Because we got to concentrate on business, and Europe and Asia sucked up everything we produced we had a great, dare I say, heady economy. And the Mad Men felt that they had created it. But it's still the mentality of the hunting pack.

Now, Burn Notice is about an individual set adrift and surviving on his own. And isn't that what it's all about?
