Domingo the Spaniard

Submitted by Gabriel McLoughlin, Aug 13, 2007 11:19

Domingo is a remarkable artist given that he is now 66 years of age. He made his debut, as a Baritone, way back in 1957 in Caballero's zarzuela Gigantes y cabezudos. Since then his large operatic repertory has well surpassed that of his tenor peers. He is also, of course, Artistic Director of Los Angeles and Washington Opera Houses. Aside from all of that. he is a Conductor of renown.

The one worry I would have is the workload he takes on each season which could endanger his health, given his advanced years. I believe he should call a halt to his singing career and concentrate on a conducting career.
