With the exception of a few secular European societies in the past 10 years, none have. And there is a very real reason for that. Even in states where gay marriage is legal, marriage rates are, at best, anemic.

Really, does it surprise anyone to see that divorce rates are highest in those nations either fighting for gay marriage or who already have it installed? Dumping traditional values and redefining marriage is a failure--every single time.

If you look through history, nations that have established unilateral divorce invariably see their divorce rates skyrocket. And of course, those who argued for such claimed there would be no such occurrence.

Marriage has always been about establishing a loving relationship between two people through which children may be conceived and raised--no matter the race or creed. And this is the way it has been time immemorium. Why one should rip the child-rearing component out of this--particularly given the already low levels of child-bearing we see in the West these days--is beyond any common sense.

Mr. McWhorter, you're wrong. History says you're wrong. Sociology says you're wrong. The demographics will say you are wrong. And in the end, so do the American people.

I have been to hundreds of gay establishments when I had a gay roommate. Doesn't mean you have to hate gays at all, but what goes on in those places in not the stuff of marriage, family, or morality.
