Agency Failed in Probing Child Abuse

Submitted by Violet, Aug 10, 2007 10:58

I have firsthand experience with one of these agencies and I am not impressed. Several years ago my child was taken by these so called professionals because of an accident. Even after the emergency room doctors stated in writing that there was no suspicion of abuse they came to our house because of an anonymous tip they recieved. There investigation was a joke, they talked to the people who called in the "tip" and also gave temporary custody of my child to these people. They tried to say that this child had been to the hospital too many times for being so young. What they failed to look into were the reasons why there were so many, once was for routine bloodwork ordered by the pediatrician, another was during the winter when the child was diagnosed with RSV, a respiratory illness that can not be "given" to the child. It took two months and an investigation by the state police, who gave me a lie detector test to clear me. Even after the police detective in charge of the case called the agency and told them to give us back our child they told us that their investigation was not done, that they needed to call the ER doctors to be sure they were confident that no abuse had taken place. We finally did get our child back but it took a long time to clear our names with other people. They look at it as if your child is taken by these agencies you must have done something wrong. Not so. The reason they took our child was not because of abuse, it was because there are some workers who are so intent on stopping abuse they take everyone as an abuser, then there are others who just don't care and don't want to actually work so they leave the children to abuse and killed by people who are unfit to care for a goldfish let alone a child. These so called child abuse protection agencies need someone to investigate them. I have a feeling we would be sickened by what we find out.
