Shifting Perceptions of the War

The Democrats have painted themselves into a corner out of which they will not be able to crawl with their heads held high should the surge continue to succeed. The American public, however, lulled by the governments success in foiling attacks since 9\11,may not have the motivation to see things through should the surge begin to falter. The irony ,for the government, is that their success on the home front has greatly lowered Americas tolerance for set backs and losses in Iraq.
