Okay, show me deeds and not words, show me, as the saying goes.

When the militias are brought under control in the West Bank, Abbas and the PLO renounce terrorism in every form, change the PLO Covenant, and show by deeds and not words that the Arabs are prepared to live in peace and brotherhoood with the Jewish state, I'll believe it.

This may or may not be an opportunity for a peaceful settlement (Israel and the West Bank) to this 100 year old conflict, but there are still the sticky matters of East Jerusalem and the so-called return of the refugees., which if implemented would effectively destroy Israel.

UN Resolution 242, recognizing a Jewish and a Palestinian state should be the basis for any overall settlement, with Arab refugess having the option of living in the West Bank only. The 700,000 Jews who were forced out of their homes in the Arab world must also be compensated for their losses.

Eventually, with the above arrangement, the Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip will understand their plight with Hamas, and simply vote them out of existence.

Also, it is possible that if the violence and suicide bombings stop, Israel could begin to dismantle the so-called "Wall" (fence), which would please the World Court to no end, among others, and the road blocks which upset Jimmy Carter so much.
