Dear Mr. Steyn--

You reminded me of my favorite (adult) Dickens work "Bleak House", which subtitle could well have read "the law is an ass".

I should like to add the ugliness and stupidity of the Scooter Libby and Duke University travesties--as well as the hypocritical verdict against the two Border Patrol Guards--who exercised their better judgment , and because of minutiae, have been declared criminals; while the true criminal remains free to continue his felonious pursuits...

The matter of the two pre-pubescent little boys is a matter of another dimension, however...What system of "injustice" has unearthed is a reason to render their adult lives a horror...Their records will erroneously declare these two cherubs "sex offenders" for the remainder of their lives...And, such innocent children's very existence may be seriously abbreviated--only because of this travesty by the authorities. An immediate reversal and dismissal of all charges must be made--with written and broadcast apology--loudly and clearly!
