The list of teams that kill their long-term prospects by chasing big names with declining games is depressingly long, and multi-sport (Knicks and Steinbrenner's Yankees, perhaps?). If Odom could make anything happen in NJ, wouldn't he have won the championship with Kobe as a running mate? Would you really trade young, developing assets for whaever is left of J.O.? Gasol's game is still on the rise, and Garnett is so good you'd have to consider making trades there. But neither is really available anyway. So I'd end the trade talk...and address thr issue Eugene brought up. How about a coach that knows how to manage a game and develop his young players?
