Mayor Decries Education ‘Platitudes' to Urban League Cheers

At last the Sacred Cow of the Teachers Union is being brought to task. Its obvious that for the last 40 years, the Teachers Union in NYC has put their own personal job security above the educational needs of our young people. They complain about not being paid enough, but when performance pay comes along, they dont want that either (because it will weed out the teachers not qualified to teach our children). It made me sick to see the pandering to this union by every mayor and politico hack in the 5 boros, KUDOS to Mayor Bloomberg for breaking the back of the unoin and trying to give the children of NYC a fighting chance. 40% drop out rates and graduating students who cant read - and the Union wonders why it has to make a change... MIKEY for PREZ!!!
