‘Nativity Story' Is Barred From Christmas Festival

Submitted by Trevor Ellis, Nov 30, 2006 11:56

It's very sad that they can't advertise for a movie about the birth of Christ at a Christmas festival. If this offends anyone, the whole entire festival and day would offend them too. Don't celebrate Christmas if you don't believe in the birth of Christ. That's why we celebrate Christmas. To top that off, our country has been very blessed and we were founded on Christianity. If you tear down our foundations, this country will crumble. If this was an Islamic festival and they weren't allowed to talk about Mohammed, there would be outrage and rioting in the streets. I feel that this is out right discrimination. I think we need to respect each others religions, by not censoring them or telling people how to think, feel, and express their freedom of speech. I sure see lots of ads more horror movies daily and no one discriminates against that garbage. no one discriminates against these Girls Gone Wild ads either. What is wrong with advertising about Jesus's birth, at a Christmas festival, that wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for Jesus's birth. I for one am boycotting the City of Chicago all together. I am not buying anything that comes from Chicago, has the name Chicago, and will not spend one cent near that city until they change their ways. I hope all of the other people that believe in freedom of speech, whether you're a Christian or not, should join me. I also think that Christian organizations should start another festival independently that will advertise for the Nativity and hold it somewhere close to Chicago, like Miwaukee. Drive the business elsewhere and let the city take a financial huring when all the venders and customers pull out. I don't think vendors should take part in the festival, whether they'll losse money or not. Jesus is the reason for this season! If you don't like, then don't celebrate it. I don't tell other religions what they can and cannot advertise, unless it involves terrorism. On top of that, Jews and Muslims recognize Jesus's existence. His birth is a historical fact. Are you going to censore, Washington, Lincoln, or Martin Luther King Jr. I think not. Jews and Muslims recognize Jesus as a great prophet, but not the Son of God. Jesus proclaimed himself the Son of God. If Jesus was not the Son of God, then he would have been lying. Why would Jews and Muslims proclaim a liar as a great prophet. They wouldn't, their fore he is the Son of God. I feel bad for all those that are denying the name of Lord Jesus Christ. Your judgement day will come. It's simple. All you have to do is believe, ask Jesus into your life, and love one another. Amen.
