Nicely put. It is the artist's job to traverse the blade's edge between projection and introspection--between person and persona. Some artists, like Cindy Sherman perhaps, have multiple personalities that coalesce into a persona. Most artists I think, circle one all-defining persona that they struggle with/explore/invent and discover throughout their whole lives.
