I can only see trouble from this. Let us not forget the Mr. Baker was more than happy during Bush 41 to dump on Israel. Pressuring Israel didn't get peace at any time. The Idea that talking with Syria and Iran to help us in Iraq is also rather lame. These folks have absolutely no interest in helping except in exchange for a big payoff of some kind. I can just imagine the deal. Syria will be given a free hand in Lebanon and Iran will allowed to develop peaceful nuclear weapons. What is really needed in Iraq is to get tough. The administration has been happy to tread water there for years. We need to root out Sunni and Shia militias as well as foreign fighters.

We may have to give sections of Iraq the Sherman treatment in order to pacify the country.
