With Death of Officer, Tougher Charges on Tap

Dear Editor;

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's arrogant hijacking of the "crime" issue as he likes to relate it to handguns is especially repugnant with regards to his disinformation campaign attacking the Tiahrt Amendment.

There is no prohibition in the Tiahrt Amendment regarding the legitimate use of "trace data" by police investigators. The point of the amendment is to prevent the exact political misuse of the data that Hizzoner himself plans to use in his anti U.S. Constitution Bill of Rights Article II Protections campaign.

Additionally, contrary to popular misconception, BATFE "trace data" only sends law enforcement agents to the door of the last legal owner of the registered handgun -- not the criminal's. That's because criminals, by definition and establised law, do not and are not required to register their guns. A pesky little human right a/k/a the Fifth amendment eliminates that requirement.
