Council Weighs Historic District Dispute

Submitted by Herbert C. Beim DDS, Jul 16, 2007 11:47

This action by the Landmark preservation Commission is another example of it's unfettered power. To designate landmark status in order to regulate land usage is an obvious violation of our constitutional guarantee of freedom to own and controil our own homes. The City Council is in league with this violation. To substitute a "Downtown Opinion" for those at the local site is an unthinkable abuse. Mayor Bloomberg should act quickly to reign in this activity.
