The difference between Muslims and every other immigrant group you mention is the ideology of Jihad and the mandate to impose Islamic authority, or Shari'a. These teachings, which are firm in Qur'an, Hadith & Sira, in each school of Islamic jurisprudence, and in the long history of Islamic conquest (including the attempted conquest of Europe) do not go away. Muslim clerics in Europe have been open in teaching non-assimilation and anticipating the Islamization of Western Europe. Muslims who view themselves as a "colony" within Europe represent an alien "civilization", one incompatable with liberal democracy or even universally understood human rights and one which wishes the destruction of their host. This is nothing like the Jews or Mexicans you mention, or the Hindus or Buddhists or anyone else.

There is no other world-ideology with followers who believe it mandates a permanent state of war (broken only by truces) against unbelievers until the entire world is under it's authority. Whose founder calls disbelief itself "persecution" and "oppression" of Muslims, who calls disbelief "war" against Muslims. Stop thinking Islam is like anything else.
