My suggestion to McCain would be to follow his gut, which is probably telling him that right now is not the time to be reducing his ground forces, the time is ripe for a surge of campaign staff, not a withdrawl, unfortunately, his dwindling donors do not appear to be in full support of that strategy, maybe he can label them "cut and run" democrats.
