What's a Jewish Catholic?

Please don't think this is a joke!

I live in Elche, Spain, which boasts of having TWO World Heritage Certifications from the United Nations!

The first is the justifiably famous and deserving Palmeral de Elche; huge groves of palm trees, the largest outside the Middle East.

The second is the "Misteri de Elx", a religious play/presentation given in the Cathedral twice or three times a year.

The high point, accompanied by hallelujahs from the aidience, is when Jesus is resuscitated after three days.

The low point, in my opinion, accompanied by wails of anguish from the onlookers, is when the Pharisees TRY TO STEAL JESUS BODY FROM ITS GRAVE FOR THEIR OWN NEFARIOUS PURPOSES, specifically to stop his deification and hence strangle Christianity at birth!

This is presented, as I said, three times a year, to huge audiences; it is sold to foreigners as a tourist attraction; it is supported monetarily and with the prestige of the UN; and it has a museum dedicated to it.

Every time there is a "Habemus Papa" there is a new broom in the Vatican; yet not one of them sweeps clean.

There is nothing new under the sun. Abrabanel called it best in his plea to Isabella the Catholic. "We have sustained years, decades, centuries of affront, THAT NEVER STOPS."

What's one more affront albeit perpetrated in a new century by a new Pope?
