It's so crazy that Charles Barron plans to host a day of outrage about police brutality in New York after he embraced Zimbabwe's dictator, Robert Mugabe on the steps of City Hall. Robert Mugabe uses his police to brutalize, rape, starve and disrespect the - mostly black - people in Zimbabwe who disagree with him or who seek democracy and basic human rights.

It's well-documented in all kinds of human rights reports. Read about it - it's important.

There are real problems with police brutality in New York, and they should be addressed, but not by someone who is ok with police brutality anywhere, and who embraces the brutal government leader who orders police brutality upon his people.

It's wrong that Sean Bell, Fermin Arzu, Amadou Diallo were killed. It's wrong everywhere that police brutality occurs. It's wrong to embrace those giving the commands to their police officers to brutalize civilians.

If Charles Barron can't admit that he was a huge mistake to embrace Robert Mugabe and throw a party for him, we should hold a day of outrage against him for supporting police brutality. He can't have it both ways.

And we should also expect some answers for all the other elected officials who joined him at that celebration ...
