MacPhail Will Be Orioles' Savior ... Come 2009

Great work. Living in Baltimore with the AngelO's has been awful. The Baltimore Orioles have such a long traditiion of teams that were always in the think of things. But Angelos thought he knew more than the people he hired. He's meddled way too much, putting the kabosh on trades, holding onto veterans simply because they were favorites of his, and since his stance during the player's strike (oh, he was very much the player's guy back then), he's been ANTI spending money on the right guys. PLUS (and this is for future reference) people are really up in arms because he refuses to put "Baltimore" on any jerseys. He was so concerned about owning a "regional market" all we see are "Orioles". Boston has the BOSTON RED SEX, not the NEW ENGLAND RED SOX. But now all that's blown up in his face, because Washington has a team and not enough regional customers want to come see his sorry O's. Angelos has arrogantly distanced himself from the core group of Baltimore fans. The Ravens embrace their fans in a way the Orioles have long since forgot. Who in the world lets John Miller leave? They let their manager (Davey Johnson go on the day he received the "Manager of the Year" award. Who has this idiotic twin GM set-up? Who in their right mind alienates Cal Ripkens AND Brooks Robinson (each has no affiation with the team now). All of the aforementioned truly take some doing. Such is our state.
