Gun owners and proponents alike should want this amendment repealed. If the ATF could share this data outside the scope of a crime, cities could investigate and sue corrupt gun dealers who feed the pipeline of guns to people who aren't allowed to have them.

Everyone knows there are a small percentage of dealers who sell large amounts of guns to straw purchasers, those who purchase firearms on behalf of those who are not eligible to buy them, and then sell them to criminals without any documentation or background check. Law abiding gun owners should do everything in their power to put these corrupt firearms dealers out of business. After all, we all know that criminals commit crime, not guns, so why not do everything possible to ensure guns find their way into lawful owners hands and not into the hands of criminals.

Tiahrt is bad legislation.
