Council Member Wants Schools To Allow Nativity Scene Displays
in response to reader comment: Councilman Avella

Terry's comments did not address the substance of the issue that the Christian symbol was treated differently that the Jewish and Muslim symbols. It is an absurdity that the Department of Eduction labeled the Menorah and Crescent "secular" This ruling made it "divisive". If nativity scenes which were common in public schools until only a few years ago are now inflammatory, then who, exactly, is fueling the flames? The City Council is the people's voice and let the people's voice be heard.
