The Sun gets high marks for reporting on the efforts of the Bush Administration to find "moderate" Muslins to discuss the present and future of Islamic societies.

Most Americans have little idea of the nature and policies of the Muslim Brotherhood or Islamic theology in general. For all the reasons cited in the article, it is a good idea to reach out to forces "inside Islam." The US has little or no traction " inside Islam. "

If the US can develop alliances with the "moderate factions," if any, of this complex Brotherhood, it is worth a try. In the world of ideological warfare and power politics, much stanger alliances have been successful in defeating tyranny (i.e. the US/UK war time alliance with the Soviet Union, against Hitler's Germany).

It is a hopeful sign to witness the "Ivy League analysts" roll up their sleeves and get to work on the truly vexing problems of our era.
