There is a rift within the Indian American community, regarding politics. In the north there are definitely a greate deal of active liberals, but the Republicans, and Bushs in particular, have done a good job of drumming up support within the community. Indian American doctors in Florida are extremely active in raising funds for Republicans, they are on the presidential sidelines simply because a clear cut Republican candidate has not yet appeared. The role of Indian Americans in America's politics will definitely grow with time, but it is important to notice their presence on both sides of the aisle.
