Time To Recognize the Online Reporters

Much of the best writing about baseball today is happening on the internet. Hardball Times, the various Sports Nation blogs, Baseball Analysts, etc. all feature daily articles of intelligent articles that are well thought out, factual, and insightful. Too many BBWAA writers treat bloggers and website owners like the enemy, and they just come off as defensive and fearful. Widening the criteria for membership, and having MLB teams formalize access for internet writers, will elevate the level of baseball journalism everywhere, and that's good for baseball and its fans.
