I would like to follow up on the this article by Jacob Gershman, very well done and thanks for the news.

I would like to bring up some points in this article ..

"I think it's wrong," the chairman of the Conservative Party of New York, Michael Long, said. "I don't think there's any way to keep track of what's going on. Who's to say that marijuana is not being picked up by teenagers in the house?"

Mr. Michael Long , i dont know what your worrie is about , We all know there are pill bottles laying around
every house in the USA that contain far far worse drugs then cannabis , IE. Narcotic pain killers , OxyContin and so on. and all that is protecting these drugs is a child proof cap that some 5 year olds could open. Also on this point.. Some old people (bless there soles) can't open these child
proof caps so they get some next of kin to open them and transfer ther pills to a container that
anyone could open.

You want to make kids safer ? , stop telling them lies, educate them. Stop wasting money
on this lost drug war. Treat the addiction , not lock them up.

"Critics of medical marijuana say the dangers of using the drug outweigh any medical benefits. Opponents also argue that there are available legal medicines that could offer similar relief. There is a fear among some critics that legalizing the drug would make it easily available to people who are not authorized to use it and would make the drug seem safe."

What Dangers ???? , have you seen the drug ads on TV .. side effects .. bleeding , kidney failure, loss of memory , Liver Damage , breathing problems, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. .. and so on.

Cannabis is far more safer and there has been no cases of anyone dieing from its use.
I also Stress the point , You dont need to smoke it to use it , it can be used in all types of foods
and even vaporized.

"there are available legal medicines that could offer similar relief" yeah and full of side effects too ..

I would also like to bring up the topic that cannabis (marijuana) should just be legelized for all
adult use, Also bring back HEMP to our local farmers. There are 1000's of uses for HEMP
even powering our cars with hemp oil. http://www.hempcar.org/

Mr Spitzer, You were put into office by us, The people of New York, You are in this position to
represent the people of NY, No matter what your Views are on Cannabis , Marijuana and Hemp
you need to pass this into law.
